Progress Cybersecurity Manifesto

The need for cybersecurity is immense.  It’s larger than the total volume of resources available to achieve it.  All of us must work together, across all areas of the industry, if we are to create any kind of meaningful progress. 

Only by working together can we accomplish the security outcomes necessary to meet the ongoing cybersecurity demands of large business and government organisations.  The personal and privacy information of literally everyone depends upon the strength of our relationships and our ability to work together productively.  Teamwork is paramount at Progress Cybersecurity and we stand united; with our customers, our partners and our vendors.

Progress itself requires both a valid strategy and repeated, incremental action.  While consultants preach that cybersecurity can transcend its defensive boundaries and become an enabler of business value, to actually achieve this requires a nuanced strategy and mostly, just a lot of hard work! Creative thinking is required to develop strategic options that leverage organisational strengths and fortify deficiencies. Positivity is also required, to fuel the vision and empower the organisational and cultural change necessary to adapt and uplift cybersecurity capabilities. 

However, this alone is not enough to ensure progress.  It must be accompanied by diligent and progressive action at an operational level.  This combination gradually builds momentum and over time establishes secure routines.  Through monitoring and adjustment, repeated incremental improvements will progress cybersecurity and ensure the organisational culture becomes more resilient and responsive to cyber threats.
